Summary

Jon Zazula is the founder of Megaforce records. After discovering Metallica and bringing them to the east coast, he signed the band to their first label deal and released their debut album, 1983's Kill Em All. Other bands associated with Megaforce records are Overkill, Raven, King's X, Ministry and Anthrax, whom Jon managed for several years. Jon's autobiography is called Heavy Tales: The Metal, The Music and The Madness and can be found in hardback, kindle and audio formats. In this episode we talk with Jon about his book. hearing Metallica for the first time, booking their first east coast shows, firing Mustaine, recording Kill Em All, touring with Raven, the transition to Elektra Records, memories of Cliff and more.
