part two of the Kirtland Temple dedication, wow, a lot has happened behind the scenes this week.

I am going to make like Joseph Smith and talk about his three favorite topics, himself, his people, and the money.

Let's talk about me. This week, I was on two broads-talking politics, hosted by

Kelly and Sophie. Every week, they talk about how politics affects our families, and this

week we talked about divorce. Amazingly, I didn't mention Mormonism even once. I did mention

how the law impacted my life during my divorce, and now as a co-parent

in the business of raising my children. Check out the show notes for a link to the Two

That's the subscription service we use to help fund the production costs of this podcast.

So that brings us to the money.

Patreon did a very interesting thing this week.

They announced that they were going to start charging patrons an extra fee for every individual

creator they supported.

Under the old slash current system, the processing fees for your credit cards are deducted

from the creator's income, so my take-home pay will be between 5% to 15% lower than

what it says I would get right up top. This instability

isn't a lot of fun, but eh, such as life, keep the fun on the podcast, right? Well, when

Patreon decided to unilaterally shift the cost of processing over to patrons from the creators

with no warning and no input beforehand, everyone was understandably freaked

out, including me. I got a flurry of messages asking if there was a non-fee way to support the show
