Summary

In 1941 31-year-old John Capes was the only passenger on board the HMS Perseus to survive after the submarine struck a mine and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Throughout the course of the World War II, the British navy lost 79 submarines – and from those there were only 4 escapes. One of which was that of John Capes.
