Hey, listeners, just a quick announcement before we get into the episode.

On December 2nd to December 3rd of 2017, David Smalley of the Dogmodebate podcast is hosting his 24-hour

annual broadcast-a-thon fundraising campaign.

And what this is is just a 24-hour broadcast wherein he tries to raise money for various secular organizations. This year,

the benefit will go to the Modest Needs Foundation, which is a group who tries to help people

out who are coming out of religion, typically with very modest needs, like a power bill that

needs to be paid, or, you know, a teenager who needs to get out of their

parents' house because they were kicked out because they no longer believe in their

parents' religion or whatever the case may be.

Unfortunately, Marie won't be able to join us as she has prior engagements set up there,

but I will be preparing a Mormon history essay to present during that hour.

And there will probably be a little bit of call in time as well, where if you want to call

in during the live broadcast and talk to us, you'll be welcome to do so.

And I just want to say, thank you so much to the patrons who support monetarily because that has

allowed me personally to put forward a $500 match. So the first $500 of donations I'm going to

match and that will all go into the pool to raise the Mormon donation hour. I mean, most of you guys don't go to church anymore, and what better

way to donate directly to people who are in need instead of funneling it through a massive church

or some kind of organization who skim so much off of the top. This goes straight to the Modest Needs

Foundation and straight to helping people who are in dire need in the secular world.
