Summary
When I met Bob Curran in the Grayson Highlands, I could never have imagined that he and I would end up at the top of Mt Katahdin together, some 1700 miles later. We came together by accident and stayed together more by circumstance than by design. That said, each of us acknowledges the positive impact that we both had on each other's hike.

As two 66-year-olds we fitted perfectly with one another when it came to hiking style and speed. We weren't the fastest but we were also not the slowest. Our progress was measured and we seemed destined to finish on about the six-month mark. That we were able to finish prior to that is down to Bob's unyielding determination to squeeze out extra miles each day. If it hadn't been for him I'd have been out there a lot longer.

Margi Mimms is the first of our Class of 2019 debriefs and, by happy coincidence, Margi was the first of us to finish. She reflects upon her journey.

Don't forget, if you have a copy of Paul Stutzman's Hiking Through and would be happy to lend me it, please email me at Steve@mightyblueontheat.com. I will, of course, arranged for its safe return to you.

| 0:48.1 | One of the things that surprised me on the trial was the number of times people said to me, |
| 0:52.8 | are you mighty blue? I was surprised because there |
| 0:55.7 | seems to be a lot of people who knew the show and could tell it was me simply by my voice. |
| 1:00.5 | However, another thing that surprised me was the complete opposite. The number of people who |
| 1:04.5 | neither knew nor cared about me and the show. It demonstrated to me that I still have |
| 1:09.5 | plenty of work to do to get it in front of |
| 1:11.3 | people. So I'm going to ask you all a favour. As many of you know, I share the program extensively |
| 1:16.8 | on Facebook every Thursday morning, flooding your news feeds and I apologize it for this getting a bit |
| 1:22.1 | annoying. I wonder if you know somebody else who loves hiking and particularly somebody who loves |
| 1:26.4 | the Appalachian Trail. Could you mention it to them? I'd be really grateful if you would. I got such a great response to Glenn's interview of me last week, but many of the emails also asked if you could hear from Trigger, my hiking buddy. I had intended to let Trigg relax and think about his hike a little more, but change my mind due to that response. |
| 1:48.8 | And so today's guest is the bloke I spent four months with and someone who isn't as big a loud mouth as I am, so I hope you'll enjoy hearing from Trigger in a moment. |
| 1:52.8 | I've also circled back to debrief some of the class of 2019. |
| 1:56.7 | Eventually I'll speak with them all, but today we had the very lively Margie Mims or Fireball. |
| 2:01.7 | Margie passed me at Boots Off, an excellent hostel in Hampton, and though I saw her a few times in the days following, she pulled ahead and finished well ahead of me and Trigg, Margie will be on after Trigg. |
| 2:12.9 | Lastly, we've got the second chapter of Paul Stutzman's book, Hiking Through. |
| 2:17.2 | By only enough, I've discovered that I only have three chapters of the book digitally. |
| 2:21.7 | I thought I could buy it and downloaded a, what they call it, a sample on Kindle. |
| 2:28.0 | Turns out when I try to buy it, it doesn't exist. |
