Folks, welcome to the Krebskast. Today we have Dexter Patterson on. He is a

UW professor and he is also the co-founder of Bi-Pock Burding Club, Wisconsin.

It is a Burding Club dedicated to bringing everybody out into the woods

to enjoy nature and the beautiful art of birding.

It doesn't matter what your background is.

But specifically geared toward representing people of color out in the out in the

out in the woods and whatnot and as a fellow bird nerd myself it was just a pleasure to talk with Dexter.

We got talking about, like there's been a lot of crazy bird things happening in Wisconsin this past year.

Colleen, Colleen is here, everyone.

And you know, we're like, remember when the flamingos came in,

or in Port Washington.

And then up in Green Bay there was this, that spoonbill thing.

Like I forget, I forget how you pronounce it, but Rose, Roseyate, I forget.

I forget. But you want, that's the cool thing about Dexter is if you mispronounce a bird or you forget the name of it or whatever, it's okay. It's like, it's all about just the joy of getting out there and the simple act of looking at a burden going oh yeah, that's a cool bird. That's it. That's the entry to birding.

He's not a snob like you are. I'm not a snob.

One time I was at home goods and I face timed because I saw this cool like art for his apartment,

for Charlie's apartment.

And I fas timed him and I was like, hey do you want this?

And it was like a couple ducks and you were like, hey do you want this? And it was like a couple ducks.

And you were like, mah.
