We talked last time about Captain William Phipps and his Skullduggerres buccaneer crew as well as his early treasure hunting career.

When we left off Phipps was still in Boston, where the Rose had been sitting idle for 15 weeks. All the while his crew was terrorizing the people

of New England, not piracy, just lawlessness, and all the while they got away with it.

But today we're going to begin with Captain George Churchill,

who, at that very moment, was opening up super secret sealed orders from Rear Admiral Sir John Narborough,

orders to sail south and hunt the greatest treasure galleon yet lost in the West Indies.

This is episode 177, a rare prize.

George Churchill is important to our story, not to today necessarily will be brushing over his role in this

story pretty heavily but in general to our larger overarching narrative George Churchill is a key figure.

He was the younger brother of John Churchill, the future Duke of Marlborough, who at this moment

was busy being dashing and handsome in the court of King Charles,

catching the eye of a similarly dashing young woman named Sarah.

That alone would make George Churchill worthy of note here, but he's a lot more than that.
