What is up, you spooky bitches? We are back with another episode of the Hello Sydney podcast here, a podcast for horror lovers where we discuss any and all things horror. And it's me, your girl, Sydney. Happy Friday, happy March, happy warm weather coming back, depending on where you are. I know I have some 60 degree days coming up. So I will be outside. Just mind your business when you

see me outside every day that the sun is shining because it's been a rough winter. Okay. So I will be

outside. I will be in a t-shirt. I'm I'm very much looking forward to it. I actually go to Austin

next week for South by Southwest, which I'm super excited for. The

lineup is going to be so good. I'm very excited. But I'm also excited to be hot because it's going to be

like 85 degrees in sunny. And I know myself, I'm going to get over that after like a day or two.

But honestly, maybe not this year after the winter that we had. I don't know.

I'm just excited to be there. So I have quite a few episodes that I have to film before going,

because I'm there for like eight days. So I have to film this episode. And then when you see me

in the next episode and the same outfit, again, mind your

business because we're probably just going back to back, baby, okay? But today we're talking about

a movie that I absolutely love from the 2000s, as I do many 2000s movies. But this one,

I actually found out when researching this movie, that this was originally supposed to be another

Asian horror remake, which I did not know. So this was supposed to be a remake when it was

originally pitched. It was supposed to be a remake of this South Korean film called Into the Mirror,

which I think came out in 2003. But then Alexander Aja got on, he's the one that

directed this movie, which Alexander Aja has done a lot of great movies. He did high

tension, the French film. He did the 2000s version of the Hills have eyes. He did P2. So

Alexander Aja came on to this movie and he didn't like the script.

So there were quite a few script changes that drastically changed the story.

So it's no longer considered a remake, though the central idea of like the mirrors being haunted and like the mirrors killing people is the same.

But it is different and there are still like some little homages to the original
