me Simon Barber. Joining us today is an American singer and songwriter and

one of the most celebrated talents on the country music scene. In mid July of this year she released her excellent

critically acclaimed third album That's How Rumors Get Started.

Her first for her new label recorded in Los Angeles with the producer Stadiel Simpson and a glittering

lineup of Session Grates.

It's our great pleasure to welcome the marvelous Margot Price to the show.

Margot joined us over Zoom from her home in Nashville back in late June just a couple of weeks prior to the new records release.

We've been big admirers of her songwriting talents for years now haven't we bry?

Oh yeah she's just the natural and she has such a strong sense of herself as an artist

and you know the way she's plowed some of the

hardships she's endured into her work is incredibly impressive. It really is yeah and

you only have to look at some of the artists she's performed with to get a sense of

the esteem in which she's already held by the country community and beyond as well.

Oh absolutely. People like Willie Nelson, Emmilou Harris, Jack White, they like John Prime.

Yeah exactly and then there's the people she's got playing on this new album, like

Benmont Tench and James Gadson.

Yeah, she's a bit of a bad-ass, basically.

So we feel very fortunate to have the chance to talk to her.
