I'm Hello, and welcome back to another episode of the Year of Pologamy podcast.

0:42.2

I'm your host, Lindsay, and I'm really excited today because we have been talking about the temple.

0:47.1

If you are tuning in now for the first time, we just did a two-part series on the history of the development of the temple,

0:54.1

and then sort of went into the LDS history of the development of the temple and then sort of went into

0:55.5

the LDS viewpoint of the temple and the temple changes. Because this podcast is trying to

1:00.7

incorporate all of Mormonism, we don't want to just focus on the LDS aspect of the temple.

1:05.9

Now again, if you're just tuning in, you might say, what do you mean? Mormon and LDS are the

1:09.3

same thing, but they're really not. As we have talked in length about in this podcast, Mormonism is broader and bigger than just the LDS church. There are over 487 extant expressions in Mormonism. And so we're going to talk to some folks who are part of one of those expressions tonight. And we're going to talk about the history of the temple as it

1:28.6

relates to fundamentalism. And then we're going to hopefully dive into some specifics on the

1:35.5

particular group that these good folks belong to. So let me introduce a guest and then we'll then

1:41.1

we'll sort of get into it. first let's say hi to anne hatch

1:44.3

anne can you say hello hi everyone so anne this is your first time coming on the podcast and you are

1:50.0

surprisingly not as nervous as some guests for the first time so uh that's great can you tell us a little bit

1:55.8

about yourself yeah um i work as an office manager for my company um i graduated college from Boise State University with a degree in

2:04.3

information technology. I was raised in the LDS church and I started looking into the changes that were

2:10.8

going on in the LDS church in the 1990s. I stopped attending that church in the early 2000.

2:17.2

And my husband and I joined our current church,

2:21.3

which is Christ Church, or otherwise known as the branch. And I've served in various callings

2:27.7

in our new church. I've been a new member missionary, a file leader with my husband. Also, I've taught in a relief society, and I've been the temple matron for our church since 2013.

2:40.9

That's amazing.

2:41.5

So I actually want to kind of ask you more about that, especially your role as it relates to the temple.

2:46.7

So when you're talking about it, it's so interesting because you're talking about being in Relief Society and a Temple Matron and to LDS people, that sounds very LDS, which sort of drives home the point that just how closely related our Mormon sects are.
