0:46.7	Osterome Update podcast. Two weeks ago, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the first
0:52.2	H5N1 avian flu detection in pigs. The infected
0:56.2	pig, which was on a backyard farm in Oregon, where an outbreak was recently reported in poultry,
1:01.4	showed no signs of illness, nor did the four other pigs on the farm. But public health officials
1:06.1	had long worried about the spread of H5N1 in pigs, which are known to be a mixing vessel for zoonotic and human influenza viruses.
1:13.6	This is just one of several new developments in the H5N1 outbreak, which in just a few months will be in the hands of a new presidential administration that appears to have very different views on public health.
1:25.4	The H5N1 outbreak is among the topics we'll be discussing on this November 14th episode
