Summary

In this episode, we get to meet our very first "BroBot", Russ Nielsen, who had an incredibly unbelievable experience in a serviced based MLM. In an effort to keep Russ motivated and "all in" with their scam, his upline kept pushing attending big events, even when he couldn't afford to go. Even with the strange and abusive treatment he received, the dopamine fueled parties kept Russ on the hook, right up until the sunk cost fallacy kicked in when he went to Baltimore to hear Donald Trump speak. 0:17.0	All right, so this is an extra special episode for me because this is the first time I'm doing two things. It's the first time that I'm going to be talking about a service-based MLM.
0:36.0	Most of the things I talk about are product-based, but this is a service-based MLM.
0:40.0	And it's the first time that I am talking to a man who is in MLM who oddly enough men are the minority in this industry.
0:48.0	So this is really interesting and I cannot wait to talk to this amazing person who we've been friends for a long time he's followed me for a long time and I value his is his input and his the way that he approaches things and his comments and he's great.
1:03.2	And so I just wanted to introduce, introduce my friend Russ Nielsen.

1:18.6	I'm super happy to have you.
1:20.0	I, like I said, men are the minority and multi-level marketing.
1:25.8	I was doing some statistical research
1:27.9	before we started talking.
1:30.8	And honestly, it's about 26% of men but what I saw in these studies that I was looking at is it's just slowly incrementally increasing by like just like minute percentages, but it started in like the 24% back in like early 2000s and now it's it's almost closer to 27% so it is growing more men are coming into this industry.
1:58.4	And so I'm really excited to hear your perspective how you got into this industry, what the perspective of the services and how predatory they are in a completely different way.
2:10.0	And I'm just really excited to, maybe we have some male listeners that listen and go oh my God I'm I'm in a service based pyramid scheme. Oh my God. So I think your voice is really valuable.

2:30.1	what was going on and how they got you.
2:33.8	Yeah, so I was working as a civilian contractor on Buckley Air Force space in July 2006.
