The problem is exactly what you're talking about.

The psychologist, social psychologist call this effect social snacking.

Because what happens is the frontal cortex,

the rational part of your brain, says, no, I'm being social, you're

the teenager up in your room all day.

I've been doing Snapchat streaks and text messages with people all day long, like,

a course I'm being social, I'm not lonely at all but our

primal social hardware which has a very deep evolutionary history evolved in a time

where there wasn't even the written word.

And so it does not recognize glowing letters on a piece of glass screen as having anything to do

with socializing.

And so I think what you're saying is probably a major source of the social anxiety and the

loneliness that gets associated with social media.

Facebook doesn't cause you to be lonely.

Replacing real world interaction with Facebook does. We are back, what everybody, this is on these, and I am in the lovely state of Maryland, Maryland,
