Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King cast, One Man's Musings on the Works of Stephen King.

Each week I'll review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

And this week I'm reviewing one of the books that made me rethink doing a Stephen King retrospective podcast in the first place.

A novel that I remember having not made any sense when I first read it,

and one that is so on PC that it has a mentally challenged character by the name of Duditz.

The novel, of course, is Dreamcatcher.

Now, like I said, this is a novel that back in the day, when I was thinking about doing a podcast about Stephen King, I thought about the pros and I thought about the cons.

And the pros, of course, was that I would be able to contextualize King's works within the scope of

the Dark Tower series, find patterns in his writing. You know, that kind of stuff excited me. The

cons were having to reread this novel and from a Buick 8. What I remember about Dreamcatcher

was that it wasn't a very good book.

Now, I say that as someone that has never written a book at all.

So by its very nature, it's better than anything that I have to offer this world.

But it's something that I have to analyze weighed against what else King has produced.

And since he has produced very high highs, those high highs only serve to show how low his

lows can be.

And unfortunately, this is a pretty low low, guys.

Is it the worst?

No.

And what's worse is that I can see what could have been great here.

The first thing is that King is playing with extraterrestrials.

The Flying Saucer, the iconic great alien, a military cover-up extraterrestrial story.
