Summary
Vermont has provided us with mud, mozzies, and views from the top of mountains.
We've been hiking for 20 straight days and I took the decision to take a zero, splitting with Trigger for about four days. We'll get back together on Sunday.
Vermont has warmed us up for the adventures in New Hampshire and Maine, so I'm sure I'll one day be grateful for these extra climbs!!

| 0:33.6 | Hi, and thanks very much indeed for your patience. This is Mighty Blue on the Appalachian Trail and it has been a while. In fact it's been six days since you from me and this episode is another one. It's just me catching up with you. No guests, just more miles under our belts. Why don't we just get straight into it? The last time we were together, we'd hike seven miles southbound with Triggers Boys and had gotten into Vermont. Let's pick it up there. |
| 1:03.0 | Day 131. County Road, mile 1601.6, northbound to Melville- Nelheim Shelter, mile 1614.4, just a 12.8 mile day. |
| 1:19.3 | We had spent the evening with the boys, had a good dinner and really enjoyed it, and when we've |
| 1:25.4 | been driving back, sorry, when we'd been driving up to the county road the day before, |
| 1:30.9 | when we were given a lift, we noticed that we passed a place called René's Diner in North Adams. |
| 1:36.1 | And I went there back in 2014 and spent about three or four hours in there. |
| 1:40.2 | And they still had the super hungry man breakfast on the menu. |
| 1:43.7 | So when we were driving back the |
| 1:45.5 | next morning, the guys took us up in their truck to drop us off at the top and we stopped |
| 1:51.5 | dinner at Renee's diner and me and Drigger both had the super hungry man breakfast for which we |
| 1:56.7 | were eminently qualified. I said the day before that the guy had taken us up in a regular car. |
| 2:04.1 | This was a proper truck and got us up no problem at all. I think it was a full F-150. |
| 2:09.8 | Got us up absolutely no problem at all. And we eventually got there, hugs all round. It'd been |
| 2:16.2 | great to spend that time with Trigger's boys. |
| 2:19.3 | Got to know more about Trigger, I guess. You know, Trigger's quite a quiet guy. And I don't |
| 2:23.8 | really know much about his life, but seeing him with the boys was good for me, actually. I |
| 2:28.9 | think, I'm sure it's great for him as well. And the boys seemed to really enjoy spending time |
| 2:32.6 | with us. |
| 2:34.6 | So we were back to where we were the day before but we were going north this time. |
| 2:41.2 | The weather is always one of the things up and most in our mind when we set out and it looked |
