So, there was this one time that I was very, very upset about what was going on on set for 9-0-2-1-0.

And, you know, I guess just being a young nigga at that time, I didn't have a lot of people that I could talk to or even who could help me navigate the industry the right way, right?

I'm only thinking hood tactics and I'm like, okay, what can I, like, this person's pissing me off, but I keep thinking I can't do that.

Doing 9-0-2-1, I always felt like I had a lot of pressure on my back because I was the first black kid on CW to be in a leading role.

Sure was.

So, it always felt like whether there was a magnifying glass or a microscope or anything on me, I always felt it.

Like, it always felt like I got to be careful, somebody's watching, I got to be careful, I can't mess this up for everybody else, I got to be careful, whatever, whatever, whatever.

So, situation happens, I don't like what's going on on set, and I'm only thinking, my mind is only thinking one way, so I'm like, yo, I hit one person who I know is navigated the entire industry, I hit J, Uncle J.

And I just emailed him and I'm just asking him for advice on how do I, there's somebody like this that's kind of like, I don't like what's going on and I don't feel right with what's going on, what do I do?

He's like, well, you have to determine if you love the person or not.

He's like, if you love the person, you pull them to the side, you talk to him, you let him know what's going on and you see how they move afterwards.

If you don't, you just give him enough rope that they can hang themselves, let them kick away their own chair.

That makes a lot of sense.

And I feel like I go with that, let them hang themselves route a lot more than I go with the pull them to the side.

I'm not going to say I don't have love for everybody, but I don't.

It's a difference. You can have love for people. I love everybody.

Even in my prayers, I pray that the people that don't fuck with me succeed, because I don't, that's shit I do.

I promise you I do.

But for me, it's more just like, yo, I'm not going to, I'm not going to take the time out of my day to hate on your life, because it's going to slow down my blessings.

And I'm not here for that. I want to win. So if me winning, I'm going to win more.

If me winning includes you winning, cool, cool, but we just not on the same field. We're not on the same court.

You don't have to shake my hand. You don't have to say, hi, great game. You don't got none of that. I'm a win regardless.
