Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the Detroit Lions Breakdown podcast.

I'm Joe Kenya. With me, as always, is Eric Schlett from USA Today, Lions Wire.

Eric also happens to be the number two most beloved sports columnist slash blogger here in the

Detroit area, according to our Detroit magazine.

And Eric, the big news today, well, it's not big news today.

It's big news on Sunday.

The Lions were walked away from Jacksonville, 3416 winners over the Jaguars,

and they're going to face the Falcons this Sunday.

So, Eric, how do you feel about Sunday's game that we just saw?

You know, I thought it was a good game, and they gave a lot of reason for optimism for the next several games coming out of it. You know, we talked to last week about them needing to,

uh, to get this game if they were going to have any chance. And, and now I think they won in such

a convincing fashion that there's, there's some realistic hope. You know, you're, um, I'm starting to get

some analysts nationally, uh, looking at the line schedule and saying, you know, echoing the same

things that we've been saying in Detroit. And that's that, you know, if you string together a

couple of wins and you get close to even with the expanded playoffs this year, you know,

maybe they're in a hunt come to come December. So that's where that's where they want to be,

you know, and there's an opportunity to do that. So with Jacksonville, though, you know,

they're not a good team overall. And when you play a team that's not good overall,

you should be able to beat them convincingly. And I think that's what they did. And a lot of people,

while Jacksonville is bad overall, they do have some things that they were, that they were, you know,

that they were excelling in. And the Lions found a way to shut those things down as well. So it wasn't

just that they beat a bad team. It was they beat Jacksonville at the things
