0:56.0	the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced confirmation of a human case of an
1:00.6	H5 avian influenza infection in Missouri. It was the 14th case of H5 reported in the
1:06.4	United States in 2024, but unlike the 13 other cases, there was no known occupational exposure to sick or infected animals.
1:15.0	The patient who was identified through the state's seasonal flu
1:19.0	surveillance system was treated with influenza antiviral medications,
1:22.0	discharged from the hospital, and has recovered.
1:25.0	Though no ongoing transmission has been identified, Missouri has not had any reported H5 outbreaks in dairy cattle,
1:31.0	and its last avian flu outbreak was in February.
