Thank you, Lord. Would you join me as we pray. Oh, loving Father, you fulfill us in ways that the world could never fulfill us and complete us, Lord. You give us your grace, your mercy, Lord, but you give us your peace. And Lord, you give us your strength your strength and boy do we need that today

Lord would you be with us as we get into your word may it touch the deepest corners of our hearts

and souls would we receive what you have for us this evening we pray in your name Jesus we

Jesus name amen and amen A good evening and welcome. So glad you're here. You

can be seated. I would say that to you online, but you're already seated in a nice comfortable

recliner probably. Unlike these poor people here locally. Okay. Well, I have to

stand through the whole thing. Okay. Well, you know what tonight is? The beginning. The beginning. I know Capono just let us in a song about the end.

Genesis chapter one. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I've been looking forward

to beginning again in the book of beginnings, which is what Genesis means origins, beginnings. This is actually our second time as a church going verse by verse through the book of Genesis.

The last time was, wow, 19 years ago, 2007.

I'm not going to tell you how long it took us to get through it.

Okay, I'll tell you, two years, but we're not going to do that this time.

And here's why. Lord willing, I want to do one chapter a week, there's 50 chapters, and complete it

in one year if we're still here, which if we're not, cool. But if we are, we're going to try to take one chapter

a week, Lord willing again. And tonight we're going to see just how extraordinarily incomprehensible it is, that within this creation account,

we are created in the image of God.

And it's even better than that.

But I don't want to get ahead of myself.

You're just going to have to wait.

So, let me pray and ask God to just give us eyes to see what he wants to show us. Father, we're so grateful to you

for your word in this chapter, this first chapter and this first book in your word. Wow, what a chapter. there's so much your Lord and I just pray that

you'll prompt me, empower me by the Holy Spirit because I don't think there's one of us here
