Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the podcast.

Today's episode is episode 164, and it addresses the NBC White Paper.

This special was essentially designed by its creator, Walter Sheridan, to discredit Jim Garrison and his investigation and to do it on national television during prime time.

For sure, there were many issues with Garrison and how he was proceeding.

One of the things that I said when we began this journey, this wonder about the garrison

investigation and the Clayshaw trial was that it was a confusing tangle of facts and

narratives that were not unlike the rest of the JFK assassination material.

However, there was one common thread that had greater weight in this circumstance.

The United States press and news media, or at least elements of it, had clearly been conscripted

to assist the federal government in containing the damage and the fallout and to derail the

garrison investigation if possible. You've heard some stunning examples of that in prior episodes

already. This was a story that was getting worldwide attention and there was a real fear

within places like the CIA and other pockets

of our national leadership that were deathly afraid that Garrison's efforts would produce

something, something more tangible, something that would really uncover the truth about what had

happened that day on November 22nd and before and after.

As you know, I rarely, if at all, do any original research.
