Today we are here with comedian and author Sophie Santos.

Hi. Thanks for having me.

Sophie comes to us from New York.

So this is a bi- bicostal interview. So Sophie was brought to our

attention because she has a book coming out on October 1st. It's called The One You Want to

Marry and other identities I've had. It's really funny. I told Sophie this. I'm doing the thing where I'm skimming it,

but trying not to really get the full details because I wanted to go into the story today,

not knowing anything. But I love the style it's written in is so funny. You have it sort of

pieced out so that in segments of which girl you were obsessively friends with at any

given point in your life, which is like such a funny and relatable way to mark the ten poles

of your coming out experience.

Yeah, I mean, almost being a stalker, but not yet.

Listen, we've all been there.

We all learn and grow and reflect.

But yeah, and another really cool thing about the book is the forward is written by Joey

Salloway, Joey Salloy creator of Transparent.

So that is a very cool person to write your intro to your first to your first ever book. That's so cool.

It was really crazy when I got the, I didn't actually realize that they had written the introduction.

Like they had just, my editor had just sent me a draft and was just like, hey, here's like a closer, you know, we're almost there. This is like the next draft. And then I opened it and I saw that they had written the introduction. And I did geek out for a couple of hours. It's a huge gift. Holy shit. Oh my god, it's actually, this is real. That's what I kind of clicked for a moment.
