In March 1995 a Kansas mechanic bought an old truck at auction; as he started to fix it up he discovered a manila envelope taped to the gas tank. To his horror, inside were 97 photos - most of them were of children being sexually abused. There was also a series of photos of a badly beaten, naked young woman.
He called the police, and this harrowing discovery unbelievably solved multiple, decades-long unsolved mysteries…

2:21.0 | So it just before one in the morning on the 25th of April 1990, just outside Oklahoma City on the side of a highway. |
2:28.0 | A group of men found a young woman. She was unconscious laying on the side of the road surrounded by groceries. They called 911. |
2:36.0 | The woman was rushed to hospital where the police were stuck. Who was she? She had absolutely no idea on her. |
2:42.0 | The woman had been found halfway between a convenience store and a motel six. So the police suspected that she'd been shopping and was walking back to the motel |
2:51.0 | when she'd been hit by a vehicle and whoever had done it had then just fled. The woman was in a bad way. |
2:56.0 | She had a large wound and a hematoma to the back of her skull. She was also, of course, badly bruised from the collision. |
3:02.0 | But doctors and police also noticed that she had quite a few other bruises too. But these were much older. |
3:08.0 | So they suspected that their mystery woman was likely a victim of abuse. |
3:13.0 | But aside from this, the police didn't have much else to go on. The woman remained unconscious in hospital. |
