So, recently, I saw a quote that went something like this.

The strange thing about your 30s is that half of your friends are getting married and having kids,

while the other half are single, partying, going on vacations,

but everyone's trying to figure out health care.

I know that last part is kind of random, but the point is, I really, really resonated with the

first half of the statement. You know, I thought about how the 30s are a decade where many,

obviously not all, but many people experience two major life milestones, getting married,

and then having kids. And I imagine that each of these events is like a door into a different room.

On one side is the before, and after you step inside, whether it's through a marriage or after

having kids, you're in a completely different room with very different life circumstances.

Maybe kids more than marriage, but still, I think both are very life-altering events.

And so, that means that within this decade, at any given time, you'll have close friends

and social circles of people all scattered in these different rooms at different places of life

and experiencing very different scenes and scenarios. Caring this analogy further, it's like,

each room has different furniture, different paint on the walls, but the point is it's like

all the events and the struggles and the schedules and the priorities of these rooms are different,

even though we're not that far apart in age. And you know, for Jay and myself, we are currently

both in the same room, the one with no man and no babies. Does it ever feel like all your friends

are either getting married or having kids while you're just not? Yes, yes, yes, yes.
