My name is Dan Mentor, and I wanted to thank you for joining us today for our inaugural episode of the consult question, a new series aimed at highlighting the clinical reasoning performed by subspecialists.

I'm here with my co-hosts and friends for this series, Doug Pet and Lindsay Shipley.

Hey, all, I'm Doug Pet. I'm a third year resident in neurology at UCSF and a relatively new member of the clinical problem solvers team.

I'm super excited to be co-hosting the console question with Lindsay and Dan. Hi, everyone. My name's

Lindsay Shipley and I'm a third year medicine resident at UAB. I'm so excited to share this new series with you.

Dan, what will we be doing on this series?

On the consult question, an unknown case will be presented to a subspecialist

discussant in the form of a consult.

The discussants will be entirely blinded to the case and will be reasoning

through the case extemporaneously.

In future episodes, we're hoping to feature more great cases that can highlight the amazing

depth and breadth of knowledge of our subspecialty consultants so that we can learn from

these experts.
