Yeah, my name is Sarah. I'm 25 and I'm the founder of the Social Justice sewing academy.

Fantastic and where are you from Sarah? I'm from the Bay Area. And we were wondering, is Social Justice Sewing Academy your full-time gig, or do you also have a day

I'm a director of a high school program within California County jails where we're giving inmates the

secondary education? Yes I went to UC Berkeley for undergrad and then I went to

Harvard for my master's. Fantastic and how does sewing fit into all of that how and when did you learn how to sew?

Yeah so in between high school and middle school my grandma taught me how to sew when I was four and by taught I mean like

allowed me to press the treadle on her antique

sewing machine but by the time I was six I was you know sewing with my mom and

although my quarter seems weren't that great I was really just enjoying the

process of sewing so my mom enrolled me in a lot of adult
