Hi everyone it's Favi and before we start the show I have a special message so

0:05.2

during this episode we talk about Black Lives Matter the protests that are happening

0:09.5

the importance of

0:15.0

importance,

0:18.0

informing your community about what's happening,

0:15.0

because, you know, the media,

0:17.0

especially Univision, Telemundo,

0:19.0

for example, just spreads and spreads more misinformation and racist and anti-Black values that are ingrained within the Latinx community.

0:30.0

And so this episode is a call to action in that sense. I say many times during the

0:36.5

episode to please talk to your families, to counteract what they see in the

0:42.0

media to counteract what they see in the media, to counteract the, you know, the systemic racism within our own

0:49.1

upbringings, the racism within our family and I will admit I've been having a really tough

0:57.2

time doing that because my vocabulary in Spanish is not that great. 1:27.4

mom and my grandmother can understand what I'm saying. So the last couple of days I've been doing research and I just wasn't finding what I really needed and then I reached out to y'all on Instagram and asked you to share those posts in Spanish that might help me and oh my gosh

1:50.4

When it rains of pores thank you everybody for sending me countless resources in Spanish,

1:58.0

countless glossaries of words that I need to know in order to really communicate effectively and I want to make

2:08.4

sure I share that with all of you.

2:11.0

So in the show notes I'm going to add a few links but know that if you go on our

2:17.0

Instagram I'm putting all of the Instagram post y'all are sending me regarding talking to Latin X Spanish-speaking

2:25.8

people about Black Lives Matter all right so I'm gonna leave them in the highlights

2:29.9

of the Instagram I'm also going to create a page on our website that has a lot of these anti-racist

2:38.2

resources. I'm going to try compiling all of those and putting them up. I will compile those and put them up right on the front page of our website, right above our big old heads, okay? So if you are frustrated because you're not finding explanations of Black Lives Matter,
