Ted King. Emily Newsom is our guest. Now, Emily has a long-storied history in gravel and

on the bike in general, and I think you're really going to enjoy

this. I first met Emily at a little-known race called the Oklahoma Gravel Graveler. It was late

January right around my birthday, January 31st, and I was on a last hurrah, quick trip to Oklahoma

for this little-known gravel race before I was due, along with Laura, to have

the birth of our first child two months later. Little did we know that late January, early February

2020 was going to be such a fateful shutdown of the gravel scene for other reasons.

I'm looking at you, global pandemic.

But it was there at that race that I met Emily. She was fresh on the scene, maybe brand new on the scene, resplendent in her team TIBCT, the best woman cycling team in North America.

At a time before roadies were venturing off-road.

So I picked her brain there on scene for a Grode to Canza.

So now fast forward to this spring, 2025.

And Emily has been on the podium of Unbound, not once but twice.

She raced the inaugural Tour de France Femm, Avec Swift.

She won that Oklahoma Gravel Graveler.

She has plenty of other races that she has won since

then, including Gravel Locos, where I will see her in just a little bit of time week and a half
