Summary

We've finished with Shenandoah National Park. It turned out to be a great place that we all thoroughly enjoyed.

With Ugh leaving for Trail Days, our little group has been augmented by the lovely Dodger Dog. Her youth and vitality have lifted our spirits.

Listeners have continued to reach out and help us while old family friends prove that, as they always do, there is nothing like the love of family.

Hi guys and thanks for coming back again to Mighty Blue on the Appalachian Trail,

0:39.3

the ultimate midlife crisis. My deepest apologies for not getting a show on for about a week.

0:45.9

We've done about 160 miles in the last 10 days of uninterrupted walking up until last Friday.

So this week I'm going to split the shows into two to make them

0:56.2

slightly more manageable and each one will be of a shorter length. The first one will go out as soon as I've

1:01.1

done it and then the second one will follow hopefully a couple of hours later. One bit of news

1:06.9

is that Sawyer have taken up their option to extend their support for the show. So first,

1:11.9

thanks for that and second, let's hear from them.

When I hit the trail in 2014, I soon discovered that I come with the wrong water filter. Everybody

1:22.5

else had a Sawyer squeeze. Eventually I bought a squeeze and I loved it. I'm going again this year and top of my list

1:28.7

of things to buy was the new micro squeeze filter by Sawyer. Like all Sawyer stuff, it just works. You can

1:35.1

filter up to 100,000 gallons and their full-sized squeeze filter comes with a lifetime warranty.

Last year, believe it or not, more than 4 million people got clean water through a Soya waterfielder.

1:45.6

But if you think that Sawyer is just about water filters, you could not be more wrong.

1:49.7

Nope, they supply everything to protect you, both in the backcountry and the backyard.

1:54.9

Protect your gear and clothes, as I did with their pomethrin fabric treatment, which is 100% odourless after drying.

2:01.1

With all the ticks and bugs around, this is an absolute must.

2:05.2

They also provide sunscreens and first aid products.
