Hey everybody and welcome back to yet another Pink Bike podcast. I'm Mike Levy, and

last week we were talking about headset cable routing, everybody's current favorite subject. I think we can all agree

that it's not exactly ready for prime time yet, but Casimir and I did disagree about whether

it could be worthwhile. I think it could make a bike look amazing and it could work if brands

made it way better, whereas Kaz thinks that it should just go away, period, and never

come back. And that sort of leads us into today's topic. What are your mountain bike priorities,

and why do you have them? So I enjoy working on bikes, even when it's a shitty job, and I love how

headset cable routing can make a bike look so clean and simple.

Now, obviously, first and foremost, I just want my bike to work well. I think we could all agree

with that. But I do also want it to look amazing. And what I got out of that podcast last week is

Cass doesn't really care as much how his bike looks. and maybe he's kind of grumpy. So today,

I've got Casimir and Matt Beer today because we're going to talk about our mountain

bike priorities and where they might have come from. We're going to talk about how that might

affect our bike selection and our rides, even how we got to what we're doing today.

But before we do that, though, I'm supposed to start these things with some sort of semi-related

question.

So, Kazimir, you are out shopping for a new bike.

You've got a good amount of money because our consulting firm, Mike Bikes, is making a killing by telling brands that headset cable writing is the future.

So you can buy whatever bike you want.

What is the one feature that is sure to turn you off from buying a bicycle, though?

That's a tough one because a lot of features can be changed.
