I'm your host, Lindsay. And today I'm bringing on a really good friend of mine, Christina Rosetti. Christina, can you say hello? Hello. So I'm kind of baffled that we've never had you on

the show before because you're like my sidekick, or I'm your sidekick, depending on where we're

at, going down to all these compounds and meeting all of these different people. How have you

never been on the podcast before?

Well, this is the first time you've invited me. Okay. Okay, well, that one's on me. That's fair.

Well, I'm glad we did that. Why don't you tell us about yourself? So I'm a doctoral candidate at the University of California, Riverside. But I just moved to Utah last year

to live the Deseret Drain and to be the Mormon Studies Fellow at the University of Utah. And I'm

using this last year to finish my dissertation on different Mormon groups and how they use the dead as a

source of authority. And that includes fundamentalists. So I have to ask you, because everybody

else does, what does a Catholic, what does a Catholic girl like yourself find interesting?

Why would you devote your life to studying Mormons? Why does a good Catholic like the Mormons?

I read Rough Stone Rolling my very first year of graduate school, and when I say read Ruff Stone Rolling and liked it, I mean I read it in two days.

And I was captivated by Justice Smith and the restoration.

And I know that that's a strange reason why someone would just become so enthralled by Mormonism.

But that's the story.

So does that mean we get to baptize you?
