The last concert that Elvis ever played was at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 26, 1977.

And my mom actually went to that show.

I remember her going with my aunt and on the days leading up to it, they were just all excited

that they were going to finally get to see the king.

Elvis was a huge presence in our house when I was a kid.

My dad and my mom both loved Elvis, loved everything about him.

Remember my mom came back from that show and then she was like a 13 year old school girl.

She was so excited and so happy about it and talked about it for as long as I could remember

afterwards.

But Elvis died on August 16th, 1977, just a few weeks after that concert.

I always remember how I found out.

I was coming home from school and I got off to school bus and I walked up the driveway.

I was about to walk in the front door to house and I heard my mom inside crying.

And I was confused by it a little bit. So I paused. I remember I walked in and I saw my mom sitting in front of the television sitting there crying.

I looked up at the TV and I remember the reporter saying Elvis Presley was found dead today in his Memphis home.

This is a personal journal. This is a bit of an experiment.

I like to say right up front that I haven't the slightest idea what I'm doing, but I decided to do it anyway.

And this show was founded with the idea that there are only two people in art that matter.

There's the creative individual and the person experiencing it. And everything else is an artificial

filter. This is a way for me to share things with you guys without any filters whatsoever.
