You know how every once in a while Bryce mentions that I'm full of stories?

Well, if I ever meet you in person and you've got a spare hour and you basically want to hear the plot of an over-the-top made-for-TV movie that's full of interpersonal drama, ask me about it, and I will tell you the latest in a ridiculous series of events in my life.

But for now, I'll keep it to the short version.

I just got a root canal a few days ago, and I'm getting another one in a couple days.

I wish I was kidding.

Needless to say, I'm not recording an episode with Bryce this week, because, ow.

But I don't want to leave you Mormon doctrine free for an entire week.

I mean, come on, we all know that Mormonism circa 1832 is just the highlights of our weekends,

right? I mean, it is of mine. But let's talk about last week's episode instead, the one where

my dad came on and talked about baptism. There's a few comments from listeners over at the My Book

of Mormon podcast.com website that clarify a few of the things that my dad and I talked about.

Not so much the baptism part, but all the other stuff. Anyway, here goes. Section 74 was a jump in time.

It was not a misprint. Section 73 was done in January 1832. Section 74 was in

1830. Now, I'd known that the doctrine and covenants weren't necessarily in chronological order.

This just happened to be the first time that I personally came across a notable time jump

since I took over the show. And as helpfully pointed out by the official cartographer of the show, Godfreet the haresuit,

Sidney Rigdon was not the scribe in 1830.

I'd told my dad that he was because he is later on, but with a jump back in time, I'd miss that part.

I mean, duh.

He didn't even read the Book of Mormon until September 1830, and Sydney joined the church in 1831, so I'd forgotten.

Also, Sydney was a Baptist minister.
