| 0:00.0 | I'm How did I not see this coming? Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Year of Polygamy podcast. |
| 0:40.9 | I'm your host, Lindsay. |
| 0:43.4 | Today we're going to talk about something a little bit different. |
| 0:47.5 | I'm actually going to be interviewing people that come from the Restoration or Joseph Smith's teachings who are not polygamous. Now we've done this before. |
| 0:56.1 | We've had some remnant followers and LDS folks on here before. But because we've been covering |
| 1:02.7 | all these different traditions in the restoration, I wanted to highlight one that I think that I've |
| 1:07.1 | left out. I've had plenty of their members come on the podcast because their church |
| 1:11.1 | puts out really great Mormon historians, but we haven't really focused on the community of Christ |

| 2:02.8 | So when I went through my whole faith crisis as an LDS person with this podcast, |
| 2:09.0 | you know, thinking, well, maybe everything in Mormonism is terrible and awful and weird. |
| 2:15.4 | And the community of Christ, apostles and leaders and congregants were |
| 2:21.1 | really great to work with me and my questions on it and although I'm not a member of their church |
| 2:26.9 | I really really value their take on things because what I've seen them do is take some of the |
| 2:33.7 | things that I found |
| 2:34.5 | harmful or harmful to me in Mormonism and reinterpreted them in a way that I think is beautiful |
| 2:40.9 | and healthy and inclusive and doesn't marginalize people and it also doesn't ask anyone to give up |
