Summary

My friend Andrew Osenga mentioned Casey J to me a few months ago, asking if we were friends. I LOVE her music, but we had never met. But as soon as he told me we were both Georgia Bulldogs, I knew this friendship was meant to be. So last month when she was passing through Nashville, we sat down and made it happen! We go deep into a lot of topics, including her new album The Gathering, and I think you are going to love this conversation (and this woman and her music)!

just so talented. I just think the world of him. A few months ago, our friend, Andrew O'Sengo,

was on the podcast. You may remember from May when he was on and told us about transitioning

0:27.2

and pivoting and how your life can change. He has an incredible podcast called The Pivot

0:31.3

that you should definitely check out. And in that podcast, or right after, I can't actually remember,

0:35.5

he told me about Casey Jay and how we should meet and be friends because we both went to Georgia.

0:40.9

We both used to be teachers and we both are in a creative field now. And so a few weeks ago,

0:45.2

when she was in Nashville, we sat down and got to have a really honest, beautiful, fun conversation

0:50.6

about life and music and going to the same college and what life is like now. So I think you are

0:56.9

going to love this conversation. I'm so grateful to have met her. Here is a few minutes with our friend,

1:01.5

Casey Jay. You teach yoga to yoga instructor. Yeah. Okay, we have to start there. Tell me, but I'm

1:13.1

going to write. So I'm a terrible interrupter. So that's why I have a notebook is so I just try not

1:17.9

to interrupt. Okay, you do yoga as well. I do. What makes you decide to become an instructor?

1:23.9

So it's a really like sad story, but it turns out good. About two years ago, I had a panic attack

1:29.3

on a plane and passed out. I like how long did you where you like or you like me where you're on

1:35.7

the road all the time, all the time. So what was the fourth flight in two days? Tell me what the

1:41.7

trigger was. Do you know? So it was a couple of things. I actually a friend of mine, her dad had

1:46.8

passed. I went to sing for her. Okay, because she had some bookings that we have. I was like, I'll do it.

1:51.4

So I had driven home and then Roland called me and said, Hey, how fast can you get back to the

airport? Oh my gosh. So I had to drive back around. I went to the wrong gate. Then I got on the
