Why do we believe that we are in control over circumstances, over people, over tomorrow?

I think that it all boils down to the fact that we do not have a correct view of who we are or who God is.

I hope that you are enjoying October.

It is so lovely here in Colorado.

All the leaves are changing and I'm trying to hold on to the fact that our trees are naked

about three-fourths of the year.

So I'm holding on to the beauty that is the foliage in our front and backyard.

It's fantastic.

I don't know if you've ever been out here, but we have what's called Colorado Gold,

which means all the aspen leaves turn this brilliant yellow color.

It's absolutely breathtaking.

And I remember one fall, this is when I was

pregnant with our first river, we took a trip up to this place called, it was called Fall River Road.

And there was so much traffic all in the mountains. And we couldn't figure out why was everybody

pulling over? What was it? And we turned this bend in the mountain. And I'm not kidding you,

it looked like liquid gold had turned this bend in the mountain, and I'm not kidding you, it looked like liquid

gold had been poured out onto this valley. There were so many golden aspen trees. It was
