Let's talk about the news.

And the news in America is lawlessness right now.

As we've witnessed since Friday, our communities have fallen into chaos,

what ostensibly in some cases purported to be political protest,

and perhaps was legitimately among some turned into looting and rioting and destroying businesses and property and cars.

Here, unfortunately, Shannon seeing a terrible scene.

Fire is burning here along H Street. We do smell. Oh boy, we're getting tear gas.

And unfortunately, I can add just a moment ago, it does appear that St. John's Church is on fire, the parish office.

We went downstairs and it is on fire.

It was deeply disappointing to me to see my Florida colleague, she's, I guess, auditioning for Vice President Val Demings, diminishing the destruction of property.

And, you know, that I just don't get that. I don't get why we as Americans, and particularly as lawmakers,

would allow this to happen to a country that we love so much.

I'm grateful that the Trump administration took strong action by designating Antifa, a terrorist organization.

They should have been designated a terrorist organization long before it, and the Trump administration has done that, and I'm grateful for it.

The practical effect of Antifa being designated a terrorist organization is that their communications, their funding, their movements now get subjected to a higher level of scrutiny and limitation.

And that should really restrict what they're able to do in terms of organizing and promoting violence.

We have seen a response from corporate America to these riots that is not reflective of a desire to see law and order restored.

It is virtue signaling.
