| 0:00.0 | Hello everyone, welcome to the Stephen King cast, one man's musings on the works of Stephen King. |
| 0:04.5 | Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King in the chronological order of publication. |
| 0:10.6 | And this week I will be reviewing the Green Mile. I'm very excited to talk about it. |
| 0:14.9 | But before I get any further, just a very quick note about this particular episode. |
| 0:18.3 | I'm recording this episode from a different location. Usually |
| 0:21.7 | when I record these episodes, I'm recording, uh, from my basement. But I decided I was feeling |
| 0:29.0 | kind of comfortable on my couch upstairs in the living room. So I decided to just pull the |
| 0:33.2 | microphone, uh, upstairs and record from the, the comfort of the living room. So it might be a bit more echoy |

| 1:14.2 | but it isn't just talent that makes him who he is. |
| 1:17.1 | He's someone that, when asked why he chose to become a writer, has answered that this is what he was born to do. |
| 1:24.4 | But he isn't just content in resting on his laurels. |
| 1:27.3 | He's someone that constantly challenges |
| 1:28.9 | himself. And as you can see in the 70 plus episodes I've reviewed so far, he's someone that has |
| 1:34.6 | reinvented himself over and over again, as evidenced by the different phases of his career. |
| 1:40.3 | It's what has allowed him to be the phenomenon that he's been for the last 40 years. |
| 1:45.0 | The reason I bring this up is because 1996 was probably the most prolific year for an author |
| 1:51.1 | who had at the time been publishing for 20 years. |
