Sponsored by Ticket King of TicketKing.com. I'm John Bonus. Twinsdaily.com, and across the table from me is Aaron Gleman of NBCSports.com and Aaron Gleeman.com. Aaron, how are you today? I'm pretty good. How are you, John? Good. The twins this week are also pretty good. They are four and three on the week. they have they're not doing that well today

0:57.0

but that still pretty good. They are four and three on the week. They have, they're not, they're not doing that

0:56.4

well today, but that still means that they're going to take two out of three from Seattle, after

taking two out of three from Boston, after taking two out of three from Detroit, six out of the

last nine games, and they'll be, well, at least 500 at the end of this game.

1:11.5

And, you know, I suppose there's an outside chance. They have a bottom of the ninth comeback here. But what are your, we are about, what, a quarter of the way through the season. So, well, I think what we're going to spend most of today doing is kind of taking a look at the team at the one quarter mark, one fourth of the way through the season. You can just kind of take all of their statistics and multiply it before.

1:29.4

It almost always works that way.

1:30.8

Yeah.

1:31.2

I knew you were a math major, John. And, you know, we're going to talk a little bit about what we think, where this team is and what we can expect for the next three quarters of the year. I mean, I don't know. In some ways, it's tough to get that enthused about a 500 team, except one of the things we talked about all offseason and in the early going is, can this year be a season where, you know, realistically, I think nobody who was being truly realistic thought they were going to be contenders, obviously. But we thought, and we talked about it, can they go from just being a miserable team to kind of being a team that can't get kicked around easily? Right. And whether that means 74 wins or 77 wins or even 80 wins. Right. And, you know, like you said, we're only a quarter the way through, but they've played some tough parts of the schedule. They've beaten some good teams lately. Right. Yeah, I think it's... To be 21 and 21 is sort of what the goal should have been for this year. I mean, obviously, any year you want to be contending and all that stuff, you want to be above 500. They still have a chance to do that. But if you, certainly, coming into the year, if you would have said it's going to be May 18th, and they're going to be 500, I'd say, yeah, sign us up. I mean, obviously, that would be, especially because there was a point, you know, two weeks ago, when it looked like, uh-oh, are we, are we headed for another 90-boss season? Which is sort of what happened last year. Last year they were about 500 and about this point.

2:51.2

They were 18 and 18 last year. They lost 10 in a row. That's right. So right now, at this point last year, they were just four days away from being 500, but they were also four days into it, four games into a 10 game losing streak. You know, that they never really bounced back from. this year at Lickett

3:07.9

I think one of the more impressive things is that

3:10.0

they've been facing a lot of,

3:11.4

at least a lot of the playoff teams last year.

3:14.5

You know, I don't know that you necessarily consider Cleveland a big rival this year or anything like that.

3:19.2

But, I mean, there's a lot, or Tampa Bay for that matter, that we can talk a little bit about

3:22.5

some of the other teams in the AL and, you know, the ones that are surprising, the ones that aren't. But, you know, right now, this looks like a team that has, you know, I guess I still feel like they're overperforming. I still know. I feel like they're going to regress a little bit. Right. But there's enough areas out there that you could take a look and say, you know, they could get better in some of these areas. You know, the pitching still hasn't, you know, really hit its stride. We're saying to see some, you know, some improvement there. You know, in Alaska didn't have a great outing today, but he started to turn the corner a little bit in May. In general, this seems like a team that could get better. I mean, it's... Yeah, well, no, but I mean, certainly, Dozier's having a hell of a year. Right. But aside from Dozier, nobody's having a year where you go, wow, they are playing crazy over their head right now. Really? I mean, not, I mean. Yeah, and, you know, you can take a look at some of the players with established track records, like Joe Maurer. Right. You know, and take a look at the year, he's having to go, well, this is, if he doesn't turn it around at some point this year, we're in real trouble for the next three or four years.

4:31.5

Like if he's established a new level of he's getting old or something like that, he's, you know, he's somewhat of a slump here. I mean, has lasted into mid-May. He's still coming off of an injury. I don't know if you've noticed, but, you know, they put him on the DL for a lot,
