The Mystery of the Moon Show NotesSummary:The moon is referenced many times in Scripture. It’s referred to as a light that at some point will be darkened then shine brighter than the sun. It is an ordinance, a false god, and a metaphor for Israel’s (Jacob’s) wife in a dream. The Bible speaks of it turning into blood, that it stood still one day, that it endures forever, it is a faithful witness, appointed for seasons, and it will give praise to God. Scientists, however, are uncertain how the moon came to be. Is this a reference to a red color only, a reference to actual transformation, or a reference to a battle? We know that God said, “I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth,blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke,” in Joel 2. Is it possible this is a reference to the war in heaven in Revelation 12? Are we approaching a possible “invasion” of fallen angels to earth, or a visible battle in the heavens between God’s mighty angels and the dragon’s rebel forces? Could those forces be stationed on the dark side of the moon, or Mars?
