Today episode 143 General Burggoin's Northern Army.

General Johnny Bergoin got London's approval to lead an Army south from Quebec

to capture the Hudson Valley, Albany, and link up with the larger army in New York City.

General Burgoyne arrived in Quebec in May 6, 1777.

From there he traveled upriver to Montreal where he met with

commanding general in Canada Sir Guy Carleton. Although Berghoyne was going to take

a large force of several thousand soldiers, he did not have any generals under his command.

However, he did appoint quite a few colonels to be generals in America for the purposes of this mission.
