We're posting it a day early.

We're coming to you from the Wild Boar in Hopkins, which I think was the last time we were here was when we had our first groupie here. Yeah, this is our might become our official hangout. I don't know. There was a groupie one time. There was a bartender who recognized us and gave us free beer another time. So that's basically, I mean, that's the way to our hearts. That's what it takes. Yeah. So this is sort of in a, I mean, we were planning to do the normal podcast tomorrow night. And we had Howard Sinker from the Star Tribune lined up as our special guest, but we pushed him back to next week because after weeks and weeks of, you know, no news for the twins, suddenly the biggest news for the twins. Holy moly. Yeah, I think we'll just skip the small talk segment. I've got no interest in learning about your life right now. Let's start deciphering this. So the big news is, of course, that there's been changes in the twins' front office. Frankly, we didn't have much. Well, let's be clear. Let's walk through the events here. Because we had a little bit of a hint of it, right?

1:17.1

Well, they hinted that there could be some, you know, fourth in command, third in command switches. But certainly they did not hint that anybody would be firing Phil Smith.

1:21.5

Last week at this time, we were last week, we were talking about how Mike Radcliffe had a chance to interview for the Orioles job,

1:28.3

and we both assumed that he would absolutely, that we learned that the Orioles had requested permission to talk to Radcliffe from the Twins.

1:36.8

And we had assumed, I think we both said, oh yeah, well, they'll absolutely grant permission.

1:41.0

That's something that you have to do because there aren't that many GM jobs.

2:01.1

And when you get a chance at a GM job, you have to give somebody an opportunity for that. Two days later, I think it was on Thursday, we find out that the twins denied permission for that, which is an unusual thing to do. Here's what happened, I believe, if you trust various reports, is that he didn't want the job. Okay. And he basically told them.

2:05.5

That doesn't surprise me because that's always been sort of the one of the, we were talking last week how how come Mike Radcliffe hasn't been rumored to be linked to more GM jobs.

2:09.7

And what I've kind of always heard is he's fairly happy being a scouting guy and living in Kansas

2:15.4

City and, you know, having his life.

2:19.6

But it is unusual that they would turn down that job,

2:22.6

and that immediately led to speculation that, in fact,

2:25.2

you don't deny somebody a chance to be a GM unless, you know,

2:31.0

there's a clear path for giving them that job as a GM, so there's a lot of speculation on Thursday and Friday that there was going to be at least some internal reorg going on in the office. And that's when the news came out that Wayne Crisky would be the, was going to be the, which probably going to be rehired to join the team, right? So we knew that there were some changes going on,

2:51.1

but I guess we thought that was it.

2:52.7

Well, the Radcliffe thing isn't a change.

2:54.4

It's a non-change.
