I just got back from a month long tour over in Europe.

But one story that stands out, while I was in Sheffield,

my buddy Craig drove me around a little bit and we

drove by Joe Cocker's house where he grew up and I didn't even know he was from

Sheffield but when I got home I showed a picture I took of his house to Mangler

and Mangler said he remembers stopping in there a long long time ago with Joe

and seeing his old place.

But Craig also drove me over to the spot where I played my first ever gig in Sheffield

many, many years ago, called the Boardwalk.

It's a legendary rock club.

It was originally called the Black Swan back in the 60s, and the locals would call it the mucky duck, and then it later

became known as the boardwalk. But it's most famous, on July 4th, 1976, the clash played their

first ever gig right there, and they were opening for the sex pistols. Just imagine being there

for that.

But the place is abandoned now.
