Matt Patricia improved his record to 4-12-1 this season with the North’s 34-24 win over the South in Saturday’s Senior Bowl. In this week’s episode, Erik and Joe discuss the Senior Bowl and, of course, spend plenty of time discussing the draft and draft trade scenarios.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the Detroit Lions Breakdown podcast. I'm Joe Kanya with me, as always, is Eric Schlett from USA Today, Lions Wire. This is the official Lions podcast of USA Today, Lions Wire. Eric, Super Bowl's upon us. I think we could, I don't know, we could say that or not, but probably get fined. Here we are on Thursday is our normal podcast recording day. And we're here to talk about whether or not the Lions will be able to get there one day. And as right now, it's not looking too promising, but hopefully we have a long life ahead of us. Where we're going to start, we're going to talk about the Senior Bowl, do a little review of that.

But first, we have some more player changes, and we have a staff announcement that was made.

They have signed or reportedly signed Tyrone McKenzie to be the new linebacker coach.

Yeah, so McKenzie was a drafted by the Patriots in 2009,

and Matt Patricia was the defensive coordinator at that time.

So they were familiar with one another.

He played in that system for two years.

ACL cost him his first year, was a practice squad player the second year.

He didn't really make his name until he ended up in Minnesota.

So he went to Tampa after New England, then he went to Minnesota.

He was with the Rams for a year. And then when Mike Vrable was hired in Tennessee, Mike Vrable then
