Welcome to another edition of Best On Tour this week where we talk about what happened

both on and off the water in the world of professional bass fishing.

I'm your host, Matt Pangrack, along dave rush from best on tour and one of the

temperatures outside are cold dave things are heating up on the water across the country as we

kick off the two thousand and twenty six season of professional bass fishing everything okay

out there on the east coast where you're located everything is okay okay. A little cold, little ice, but we'll get through it. So we've got a lot to talk

about today, Matt. Yes, we do. Let's kick things off with the biggest news in the industry right now.

And that is the dual threat fishing team tournament that took place down on Lake Okeechobee originally slated as a $5,000

entry fee tournament with 100 boats, became a no entry fee tournament with the same payout

and 62 boats, $100,000 to the first place angler out of those 62 boats in the three-day event last

week on Okachobi the team of Messer and messer 61.17 pounds martin via ron nelson and second

james bigs and his partner 50.58 for the top three they are back to back in this event. Another $100,000 first place will be given out this upcoming week on the St. John's River. And Dave, the biggest no entry fee team tournament trail in history is underway.

Like you said, back to back, they are practicing right now on the St.

John's River, kick that event off shortly.

And as you said, the team of Messer and Messer, Matt Messer, a 2026 elite

series qualifier, one of the members of that team, taking home $100,000 with his brother who also

has competed in the Bassmaster Opens and some pretty big names in that field and pretty strong

across the board level of competition for the dual threat tournament series there.

Another big announcement in the tournament world comes out of the Ozarks where Pate Shoemaker, owner of Pro Guide Batteries, announced the Pro Guide Hope Classic that will take place on May 9th, 2026 on Table Rock Lake.
