Hello, and welcome back to another episode of the airport podcast.

I'm your host Lindsay, and today we're doing a special holiday episode since I'm in the United

States and we get into what we call the holidays which are Thanksgiving and Christmas and New

years and of course those are the Christian holidays that I celebrate. One of the most common

questions that I get asked has to do with the FLDS, the group run by Warren Jeff's,

and how they celebrate holidays. There are all kinds of different rumors flying around about,

do they celebrate holidays, do they not celebrate holidays? And the short answer is, no, they

don't celebrate holidays. Warren Jeffs got rid of holidays for the group several years ago.

And so now we have a whole generation of children who have grown up without celebrating any

holidays.

And as the group is splitting up and fracturing and the leadership is all getting captured and

being put in prison, people are coming out and they're celebrating Christmas for the first

time ever.

And it's sort of disorienting for people who have never even experienced this or have been

taught that it's wicked their whole life. So we're going to do a series of interviews today,

three short interviews where we talk about the holidays in Short Creek. Roy Jeffs, the son of

Warren Jeffs, is going to talk about sort of the history. It's not a comprehensive history by any
