On July 21st 2015, the first episode of Our Fake History ever was released into the void

that is the internet.

100 people downloaded that episode when it first came out and I'm pretty sure I knew every one of

them personally. It was a modest showing to be sure. That's why it kind of blows my mind these days.

When I get an email from someone in Germany or Australia or some other faraway place saying

that they've been listening since July of 2015, I almost can't believe it.

The month before I launched this show, I got married and I can tell you that not everyone who

attended my wedding listened to the first episode of Our Fake History.

So the thought of a complete stranger in a country very distant from my own,

getting on board with the podcast right at the jump. Well, I guess that's the magic of the internet.

If you are one of those people and you are still listening, well, holy machina, that is dedication.

But now of course you've got a lot of company around here. Back in season one, when I first did

a Q&A show, I proudly broadcast my overall download numbers for that year, right down to the last

numeral. Six years in, now that feels maybe a little gauche, maybe a little braggie.

And since I've migrated my feed to different hosting sites four times since I've started this show,

getting an exact count on the overall download numbers actually requires me to do some math.

And as we have established math isn't exactly my strong suit.

But some of you asked and today's show is all about you folks, the listeners.
