What's up guys? So today on the podcast, we have something that may make you angry, might make you upset, or you might be just interested in hearing. I don't know.

You know, I was, if you listened to the podcast last week, I was talking about the book, opening closed guard, which is essentially a collection of interviews, transcripts from that Robert Drystale piece together.

And then he kind of talks about him a little bit throughout the book.

I finished reading it this past week.

And then we had this interview with Robert Drysdale.

The interview was great.

I think you guys are going to get a lot from it as far as just, it's interesting to me

to talk to someone who was meeting with all these different people and going through

that whole process. But again, you know, I've seen where it's gotten some backlash from people.

And again, I want to preface the whole episode with that this is this episode, the words that I say,

the intention is not to degrade the value of anyone that has been there before us, that's been a founder of the sport

and the martial art that we practice. It's nothing of that. I am a history geek. Like, I love history.

If you go through my bookshelves, about half of them are history books. What I like about history,

what I like, and obviously Robert

Drysdale, he's a, he's a guy who studied history. What I like about history is that it gives

you the three-dimensional view of someone, right? Because a lot of times when you see a very

sort of, like, superficial sort of version of something, it's a lot of times it's like 2D. It's like it's

very like straightforward black and white. But as you probably know, there's so much more depth to

each one of us, right? Because for instance, you guys listen to this, you might think I'm a pretty

cool guy and I like to think that I am. But Eugene would tell you sometimes I'm an asshole, right? It's just how I am,

right? So there's different sides to me, right? There's different sides to all of us. And I like trying

to, you know, scratch through that a little bit and find that for everything. And I think that's what
