Summary

This week I am talking about the importance of finding and utilizing the proper support tools as you go through the most transitional time in your life. The topic was inspired by my Facebook group, where I've been seeing a stream of really long posts. And what that says to me is that women are looking for ways to offload, mirror, and vent about the toxic and oftentimes abusive relationships they are in.

But loves, if you are someone who is expressing your feelings in such a way—whether it's in a Facebook group or to a group of friends, you don't just need support, you need therapy (or a divorce coach or both).

So in this episode, I offer gentle reminders about being present to your own experience, using the right tools for healing, surrounding yourself with those who aren't energy sucks, and being mindful of how you use your time.

Show Highlights

  • When you are in a crisis you need a team - the right team.
  • Guarding your boundaries and being mindful of where you are placing your energy.
  • Consciously lean into the relationships that feed your soul.
  • Focus on yourself and your feelings as you go through this process of healing, transition, and change.
  • How are you utilizing your time? Are you giving yourself time for rest?

And I've kind of been like, I don't know, what I'm going to talk about?

1:01.0

And I haven't really come up with anything very specific, but I just, I guess I just felt like I wanted to touch base with you guys.

1:08.5

And, you know, just say hi. You know, the most contact that I have

1:18.0

with most of you is in my Facebook group. And there's been a lot going on in there. There are a lot of

1:26.0

changes that are coming to the group because it has gotten so big. And so we are really working the mods behind the scenes. The moderators and admins and I are working really hard on implementing some changes so that we maintain the integrity of the group.

1:45.8

And one of the things that's been coming up a lot recently is that a lot of posts are really,

1:52.9

really, really, really long.

1:54.9

And I kind of want to address, and this is not necessarily for the Facebook group.

1:59.0

This is a general, you know, a general thing is that what we're finding is that when people come together in a forum where they're being heard for the first time sometimes in their lives, they want to like share a lot of details, right? Because literally

2:21.3

they haven't been heard in so long. And so this sort of feels like the first place that they

2:29.3

can go where they're being heard. Their experience is being held or mirrored back to them in some way

2:37.6

and absorbed, almost like it's being absorbed, right? And when we want to get something off of our

2:44.0

chest, like out of us into a space that can hold and absorb it, it feels like, you know, it kind of feels life-changing.

2:56.5

It's very cathartic.

2:58.0

And if you have that experience, and again, not just in the Facebook group, but if you have the experience of needing to get this entire thing out of you and like put it somewhere and like

3:13.8

almost like vomiting right and I don't mean that in like a negative like oh they're just vomiting
