Summary

Episode 134 of The Independent Characters is is a return to our Show of Force format. This time around we are covering the Astra Militarum, or as they are traditionally known, The Imperial Guard.

To help us out we have a couple of guests. First up is Douglas Neale, or as he is more affectionately known, Replacement Geoff. He plays IG as his primary army and has a love for the army. Additionally we have another Doug! Doug Johnson of Tablewar fame!

We go over every aspect of The Imperial Guard, from our favorite models to how to play the army. This is truly the episode for person who loves this army. We work to answer the question, "Why would you want to play this army?"

0:00.0	Hi, this is Carl, and before we get started with this week's episode, I just want to apologize for the sound quality.
0:06.0	One of the things we've done recently is I've started recording via the USB output to my soundboard.
0:14.6	And unfortunately, you do have to switch the recording software
0:19.7	that you're using to recognize that you're recording from USB and in this case I neglected to do so again
0:26.6	I'm kind of new to recording from the USB portion of this so I kind of screwed up technically basically is what I'm saying and I
0:35.7	committed kind of the ultimate sin what I always recommend people do is record a little piece
0:41.2	then listen to it to make sure everything sounds good before you start
0:43.9	recording in this case I just visually looked at it and thought everything sounded
0:47.7	fine or looked fine rather and as it turns out the entire episode was recorded through the mic on my Mac laptop as opposed to through the microphones in front of my guests, Adon and Doug.
1:01.0	So I apologize for the sound quality. I've done my best to level it out at this point to make it
1:06.1	Listenable to here's the problem we didn't have time to go back and re-record we don't have another three hours to go back and re-record but the fact is the
1:15.2	quality or excuse me the content of this episode I feel is good enough that it outweighs the sound quality in this case and usually I wouldn't say that
1:26.6	But this is a really great episode. I think it has a lot of great content in it. So hopefully you can bear with us this episode. I've got the issue fixed for
