The rule of law is not just some lawyer's turn of phrase. It is the very foundation of our democracy.

The essence of the rule of law is that like cases are treated alike.

That there not be one rule for Democrats and another for Republicans, one rule for the powerful, another for the powerless, one rule for the rich, and another for the poor, or different rules depending upon one's race or ethnicity.

To serve as attorney general at this critical time is a calling I am honored and eager to answer.

Hey, Allison, I'm Pete Stark. Lots of news today. First and foremost, the Fulton County District Attorney's Endowment of Donald Trump and so many others, 18 others, the FBI thwarting a Biden assassination attempt and a new FBI whistleblower.

And we also have some motions denied for Pete Navarro in his criminal contempt case and Donald Trump in a Manhattan DA case. But first, let's thank some patrons because you, you know, you make the show go. We couldn't do it without you. We appreciate you so much.

But that Pete let's start with the events leading up to yesterday leading up to very late last night. I should say when we finally got an indictment of unsealed because there was a lot of stuff that went on while we were sort of waiting to see what was going to happen.

Because most of us weren't expecting this to go down yesterday until we found out that some people got called in early. So basically it's will the whole day started with Trump posting on truth social intimidating a witness telling former lieutenant governor Georgia Jeff Duncan not to testify like like straight up not even like a wink and a nod.

Just he shouldn't he's going to testify he shouldn't and I thought that that was pretty brazen giving you know given the laws down in Atlanta for you know being able to be allowed out on bail.

Yeah you know and I think I read the Georgia law talking about witness intimidation and there is some question about when telling somebody don't testify the laws written so that it has to be you know some direct inducement or direct threat and of course with Trump the issue is he's you know nothing he's like a mob boss right he's not going to say I'm I'm going to hurt you or cause bad things to happen if you testify that's not the way operates and everybody from Michael Cohen has said that even you know might my nemesis bill bar I think is compared him to a you know a six or eight year 12 year old who sits there.

We can't be a 12 year old with like a glass of water on the table pushing it closer to the edge to see what you're going to do that's what's Trump that's what Trump is doing so I think it's you know a matter of time I would be shocked if he does not end up with sanctions from some court given what he said about all these different prosecutors and judges but yeah it was clearly the minute a witness is due to go testify the same day to take to social media and your millions and millions of followers and saying don't go.

You know come on when the thing you're one of the things you're being investigated for and eventually were in fact charged with is you know you're getting people to to not do their official duty to not you know to engage in a corrupt act so it was it was brazen I think it is yet again Trump having lived a life of not having any consequences trying to figure out and push that line because it's worked for him for the past how about the hell only is 78 whatever years now that and and he wants to do that.

He wants to get thrown in jail or gagged because then he can cry about it and be a martyr and claim First Amendment and all this other crap.

But you know in Georgia though the onus is on the defendant during arrangement to prove they have to prove that there's zero risk of witness intimidation or possible obstruction of justice and in that what he posted is going to make it a little harder for him.

But we'll see what the judge ends up doing judge McAfee by the way I believe is he's been assigned to this he's a brand new judge but I think he spent a lot of time as a prosecutor.

So he's not totally he's not like an island cannon situation but he's not a trumpet pointed judge either.
